I want to "figure out BS" because as of lately I've been hearing a lot of the same. Even when I've talked to alumni who've spent all 4 years in the BS program I hear that they have the same problems explaining us to prospective employers and friends. Some say its business with art and others say its art with business, but they agree that its difficult to put it into words. Maybe a little from column A and a little from column B? But I want to know what you think the BS program is. Tell me in a word, sentence, paragraph or write me a paper (please no books). Part of the What We Do Show coming up in April will be to show BFAs, alumni and anyone else interested in us "what we do" and hopefully have all of us walk away from it knowing a little bit more about the Minneapolis College of Art and Design Bachelor of Science program.
What is this?
THE go-to guide for everything a student in the Bachelor of Science: Visualization program could, should, and yes, even must know. Everything from staying healthy, to MCAD resources, to job postings, to good restaurants. Use the list of topics on the right to get information. Bookmark and enjoy!

Figuring out BS

You could say that the BS program is a sort of open program for creatives that allows you to forge your own path with the guidance of various emphasis.
At Belmont University (my previous school) the honors program there had a create your own major track that had a lot of similarities with the BS program. It really is what you make it.
To me, the BS program essentially is creative management. We are the the people who know how to talk to creatives and know how to talk to the business people. We are all about process. We're the people who make things happen.
